ISS contracts extended at Renault and Nissan in the UK, Switzerland and Belgium Since 2004, ISS Integrated Solutions has provided integrated total facilities management services at the Renault UK and Nissan GB HQ and the company has just announced that the contract will continue for two more years. Welcome to the
Cleanzine - the original Cleaning & Hygiene industry e-news Read by industry professionals in 148 countries worldwide! Of course I don't know all the facts and it may be that the driver of the street sweeping machine that caused some £5K - £10K worth of damage to a Grade II listed hotel this week is the most qualified driver in the world, but if anything shows the need for the thorough training of those working in our industry, this story does. In case you missed it, the whole thing was caught on CCTV and can be viewed here. As you will see, the driver squeezed his machine through a tight space and dislodged a portico at the Lowther Hotel in Goole, East Yorkshire, (which had managed to remain unscathed since it was built in 1824) before driving away - seemingly oblivious to what had gone on! Hotel manager Rik Duckworth, 27, told the Daily Mail: "If the sweeper had twisted the pillar by another three inches, the full portico could have collapsed and crushed anything in its path." The street sweeper was operated by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council, which has apologised and "put the matter with the insurance company". I hate to think what's going to happen to the premium when it comes to renewal time...
