Antibiotic resistance-when bacteria change so antibiotics no longer work in people who need them to treat infections-is now a major threat to public health and we need to do everything we can to prevent the spread of infection. Inteb calls for tighter Legionella regulation
Inteb says the possible mutation of the Legionella bacteria that has been noted, which allows it to survive at temperatures up to 61 degrees C, is one reason to tighten up the law. Next week John and I fly out to Amsterdam to visit the ISSA/Interclean exhibition, which is taking place at the Amsterdam RAI from 6th – 9th May. This show is always enormous and we understand from the organisers that this time around it’s going to be even bigger and better. I always complain that four days doesn’t give us enough time to see all that’s on offer – so goodness only knows how we’ll get round to everyone – but we will do our best!
