Twinkle Clean harnesses online technology and passes savings onto customers

* Twinkle-clean.jpgTwinkle Clean's new online booking system for end of tenancy cleaning in London is proving its worth, according to the company's founder, Robert Garritano, who says: "Our customers love it. We've been able to make savings on administrative costs and pass these savings on to our customers. It's taken our office staff some getting used to though as the phone doesn't ring as much now!"

When asked what made the company develop the system, Robert explains: "Our administrative workload has increased so much over the last six months that we were looking to add a new administrator to the team. I sat down with my managers and we looked at alternative options, of which the online booking system was the most cost-effective. In a tough market every penny counts and we're spending the savings on improving our quality control processes."

The contractor now receives over 90% of bookings online and as a result is developing an estate agent-facing portal which Robert believes will revolutionise the way lettings agents interact with cleaning companies.

Robert started his business with a very small start-ups loan less than three years ago. Now the business is operating with over 50 cleaning operatives - just for its end of tenancy cleaning service. But that's just part of the business, with the company offering builders cleans, after builders cleans, deep cleaning, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, office cleaning and rubbish removal services.

"Quality is at the heart of what we do," says Robert. "Our focus is on delivering consistently high quality cleaning services while offering value for money.

"We often tell our customers that picking the right cleaning company for the job is very important. We're aware that price can be a deciding factor in the decision-making process, but you have to remember that you often pay for what you get.

"We regularly spot check and carry out quality assurance to maintain the high standards expected of us. And because we pay our cleaners well above the minimum wage, they are motivated to turn up to work on time and deliver the high quality cleaning services we have become associated with."
