New acquisitions on three continents for Bunzl

Bunzl has completed three further acquisitions, this time of companies in Spain, New Zealand and Brazil. The first two are engaged in the distribution of cleaning & hygiene products and equipment while the third sells a wide range of protective equipment and clothing.

Bunzl says aggregate annualised revenue of Cemelim in Barcelona, Spain (a member of the CIDAL Spanish distribution group) and ICB Cleaning Supplies in Auckland, New Zealand, is approximately £5 million, while revenue for Brazilian company Casa do Epi Ltda in the year ended 31st December 2014 was R$83.2 million (c.£14 million).

Operating from a facility in the state of Minas Gerais with a sales office in Sao Paulo, this Brazilian business is principally engaged in the sale of a wide range of personal protection equipment to end user customers in the mining, construction and manufacturing sectors.

Commenting on the acquisitions, Michael Roney, Chief Executive of Bunzl, said:

"The purchase of Casa do Epi is an important acquisition for our safety business in Brazil. The business has an excellent reputation and a broad customer base and will strengthen our market position in the state of Minas Gerais while Cemelim and ICB will add further scale to our cleaning and hygiene supplies businesses in Spain and New Zealand respectively. We welcome all employees of the new businesses to Bunzl."
