The rise of the robots?

* UV-robot.jpg

Elsewhere in this issue you will have seen that the Cleanfix second generation floor washing robot won its category at the Innovation Awards this year.

What you will not have seen, unless you have been to the Innovation Lab at the Show, is a demonstration of the UV disinfection robot working alongside the Cleanfix robot.

The UV disinfection robot is an autonomous mobile unit for hygiene sensitive and healthcare industries. It is used primarily to reduce the spread of infectious diseases, viruses, bacteria, hospital acquired infections, and other types of harmful organic materials.

How it does this is by utilising powerful UV-C light to secure higher pathogen kill rates. It is said to offer faster room treatment times, eliminate human error and requires virtually no human interaction. This in itself could be considered a huge advantage over placing persons at risk in say, isolation rooms.
