Ninth consecutive Gold award for Mitie

* MITIE.jpgMitie is celebrating a ninth consecutive Gold Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. The award follows the recent confirmation of Gold Awards for three of Mitie's largest integrated facilities management contracts - Rolls-Royce, Lloyds Banking Group and the Cumbrian Collaboration.

For the past 60 years, the annual RoSPA Awards have been held to celebrate excellence in safety performance.

They have become highly sought-after as a universal acknowledgement of an organisation's ongoing commitment to promoting good habits, awareness, knowledge and, overall, embedding a deep-rooted culture of health & safety.

Mitie has a well-established programme of health & safety initiatives across its facilities management business. This is built on engaging employees at all levels through interactive campaigns and communications - most recently, the award-winning 'One lapse can last a lifetime' video series. The series has formed a central part of Mitie's long-standing Work Safe Home Safe! campaign, which encourages employees to consider the long-term effects of their actions in the workplace.

"I am absolutely delighted by our latest RoSPA success, both for our division and for our three IFM teams," says Martyn Freeman, managing director for Mitie's facilities management division. "These Gold Awards are yet another testament to their hard work in promoting the health, safety and wellbeing of our people, and I offer them my sincerest congratulations on this fantastic achievement."

Mitie's FM QHSE team will attend an awards ceremony on 21st June at London ExCeL, where they will be officially recognised and collect their award.
