Doncaster Council is first authority to achieve (CIMS) accreditation for in house cleaning

Dianna Steinbach, ISSA director of services (Europe, Middle East, Africa), flew in from Germany to present the Elected Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones with the Cleaning Industry Management Standard Certificate that has been awarded to Metro Clean, part of Doncaster Council.

This makes Doncaster the first local authority outside North America to become a CIMS Certified Organisation.

The presentation took place this week at Doncaster's historic Mansion House. Ian Taylor, building cleaning manager, welcomed those attending and thanked the Mayor for agreeing to accept the award as leader of Doncaster Council. He went on to thank all the staff who had made the award possible, and thanked Brian High who he said was instrumental in helping Metro Clean to gain success.

Dianna said what a pleasure it was to be able to present the certificate personally, and warmly congratulated the Metro Clean team on all their hard work in making the necessary changes to gain this coveted award. She added that the award was very well deserved and Doncaster should take pride in having achieved such an important award.

In reply, Mayor Ros Jones said she was proud to accept the award on behalf of Metro Clean and Doncaster Council. The Mayor went on to say how wonderful it was that Doncaster was leading the way in Local Authority cleaning services and providing quality and value to the residents of Doncaster.

ISSA CIMS Certification was granted to Metro Clean following a comprehensive assessment of its Management Structure and operations by an independent accredited CIMS assessor. Metro Clean had successfully demonstrated a commitment to the delivery of consistent, quality services designed to meet customer needs and expectations throughout Doncaster.
