NIC further develops Lean culture
Sam Pinnick, key project manager at NIC, has completed and passed his Green Belt Lean Six Sigma course and is now working toward his black belt qualification. Although the company has always followed a Lean model, it is looking forward to exploring further how the Six Sigma approach can further benefit its business and its customers.
Sam reiterated this strategic approach by commenting: "We see this as our continuing focus at driving a Lean culture throughout the business in a more formal way. Lean and Lean Six Sigma allow us to analyse and drive efficiencies for all stakeholders in a structured and globally recognised way."
NIC will be holding `refresh` Lean awareness training days throughout January and February to ensure that everybody - including all new team members - has Lean Six Sigma within their business skillset.
Lean Six Sigma is based on a team effort to improve performance by systematically removing the eight kinds of waste generated by many businesses; waste in transportation, inventory, motion, waiting, over-production, over-processing, defects and skills.
