Kleen-Tex acquires a leading UK residential mat brand
Kleen-Tex Holdings (UK), the UK subsidiary of Kleen-Tex in Europa GmbH, has announced the acquisition of The Turtle Mat Company, owner and marketer of one of the most recognised residential doormat brands in the UK.
"With Turtle Mats, we are gaining a strong retail brand for our company portfolio, especially in the UK market," explains Jürgen Teubenbacher, managing director of Kleen-Tex in Europa GmbH. "For both companies, there are very positive synergies - on sales, marketing, and distribution."
With a shared mission to provide tried, trusted and innovative products to their customers and with a focus on excellent customer service, Turtle Mat was an excellent choice to grow Kleen-Tex's position within the UK.
Turtle Mat has a thriving e-commerce and mail-order business, and over 300 trade customers including leading UK retailers John Lewis, Lakeland and Countrywide. The move offers opportunities for Kleen-Tex, a European and global manufacturer of high quality mats, to bring its extensive product offerings into these areas.

Kleen-Tex, is a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of innovative matting solutions. The company specialises in the production of high-quality, washable floor mats used in commercial and industrial applications. Kleen-Tex is also a leader in printed logo, advertising and promotion, and special event mats, along with mats designed to enhance home interiors. The family business was founded in 1967 in LaGrange, Georgia, USA, and the international headquarters is located in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
Kleen-Tex Europe consists of three entities. The Kufstein, Austria plant is the headquarters of Kleen-Tex Europe, which supplies the European market. In addition to a sales office in Bolton, UK, the main production plant is located in Suchedniow, Poland. Kleen-Tex also has manufacturing operations in Kobe, Japan; Sriracha, Thailand; and Durban, South Africa, as well as distribution offices in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and Sau Palo, Brazil.
