The not so dirty dozen! Interclean Amsterdam reveals Innovation Awards 2018 shortlist

* not-so-dirty-dozen.jpgThe upcoming Interclean Amsterdam Innovation Awards have just become a little more exciting for the companies responsible for the 12 entries that have made it onto the newly revealed 2018 shortlist.

This year's awards event - the 12th in the series, has seen the number of categories grow from three to four, adapting to the ever-changing nature of innovation in the professional cleaning and hygiene industry.

This means there are three shortlisted nominees in each category - including Management & Mobility Solutions/E-Cleaning, Equipment, Machines, and Related Products/Services.

The overall winner - and the four category winners - will be announced at a special ceremony in the InnovationLAB in Hall 8 at Interclean Amsterdam on Tuesday 15th May. Visitors to the show are able to vote for their favourite innovation via www.intercleanshow.com which will receive the Visitors' Choice certificate.

Shortlisted nominees by category:

* In the Management & Mobility Solutions/E-Cleaning category, shortlisted entries include Adlatus Robotics with its service station for cleaning robots (pictured), Diversey for IntelliLinen, and INPACS for its Orbita Dashboard.

* The Equipment category features Diversey for its MoonBeam3 UVC Disinfection System, SYR for the Powr-Mop Lite, and Vermop Salmon for its Vermop System ONe.

* Shortlisted for the Machines category are Kärcher for its KIRA B 50, Unger Germany for the HydroPower RO, and Wetrok for its Wetrok Automatic Marvin.

* In the Related Products/Services category, the featured nominees are Dityspray for Dityspray, Tork for its Tork PaperCircle, and Werner & Mertz Professional for the green-Effective Performance Calculator

Many of these innovations are a world-first in their field, and represent a significant leap forward for technology in the professional cleaning and hygiene industry.

The shortlisted products will be on display throughout Interclean Amsterdam 2018 in the InnovationLAB (Hall 8). Designed to showcase the latest innovations in cleaning products, services, concepts and ideas, it is an appropriate setting in which to highlight this year's nominees.

"We are excited to once again share the most innovative products and solutions with visitors to our InnovationLAB," says Rob den Hertog, director of professional cleaning & hygiene at Interclean Amsterdam. "Innovation is what drives the professional cleaning and hygiene industry forward, and has always been a vital element of Interclean. We look forward to seeing which nominee emerges as the winner of this year's Amsterdam Innovation award."

Chair of the jury Michelle Marshall adds: "We must congratulate all our final nominees for this year's award, and also everyone who submitted an entry. I know I speak on behalf of all the judges when I say we had many interesting products to read about!

"What was particularly interesting was the broad spread of different developments now being brought to all segments of the market. Yes, there were a number of new 'smart' solutions using latest IoT technology; however, there were also notable new tools tackling the day-to-day needs of the cleaning operative at ground roots level.

"Year after year, we can observe that cleaning solutions providers are becoming more focused on meeting the needs of the workforce and building users too. This enhances the daily operation of the cleaning team, and consequently the 'experience' of the end customer within that particular site."

Other judges are Pierre Deschamps, chief editor of Batiment Entretien magazine based in France; Dick van Zomeren, industry expert and editor of Service Management magazine in the Netherlands; Rob Geissler, publisher of Sanitary Maintenance and Facility Cleaning Decisions in the US; Ton van der Riet, managing director of Senzora in the Netherlands; Reinhard Knittler, publisher of Reinigungs Markt magazine in Germany; Cor van der Velden, chief expert at Skills Netherlands; and Antonio Borreda, director of Revista Limpiezas in Spain.

Interclean Amsterdam 2018 runs from 15th - 18th May 2018.
