The hand-held part looked pretty big to us and we wondered how heavy it was. "It's just 16 Kilos, said Roberto, brandishing it to prove how easy it is to lift.

Another shortlisted entry, Diversey's Smartdose, seemed familiar, so we asked the company's Angela Novembre whether we might have seen it before. She explained that it had been introduced into the UK fairly recently but was just being launched into the Italian market. As we weren't too familiar with the product she talked us through the concept.

"SmartDose is an innovative dosing platform for super concentrate daily cleaners and disinfectants, which sets a new industry benchmark of accuracy, simplicity and safety for the users without the need for a connected water supply," she explained.
