MITIE awarded multi-million pound cleaning contract with Arriva UK Bus
MITIE has been awarded a multi-million pound, five year cleaning contract with transport provider Arriva.
The contract will be carried out by MITIE's Environmental + business, whose specialist transport team already works for major airports, train and bus operators around the country. The team will provide vehicle cleaning, shunting, fuelling and depot and premises cleaning to over 1,600 buses at 24 locations in the North East, North West and Yorkshire.
Approximately 250 people have been transferred to MITIE.
MITIE's team of dedicated transport experts will ensure there are safe systems and processes onsite, through innovations such as Lean Six Sigma principles and investment in IT and equipment.
"This is a vote of confidence in our transport team that continually puts the passenger experience at the heart of everything we do," says Rob Cattell, Managing Director of MITIE's Environmental + business. "A lot of work will go into ensuring each individual bus starts its daily journey in pristine condition, something that passengers should rightly expect."
