Biovigil Hygiene Technologies lands new hospital contracts and increases staffing levels

* brentNibarger-biobigil.jpgBiovigil Hygiene Technologies, whose principal product is a hand sanitising system for hospitals that detects and monitors hand washing, is moving into larger premises in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to enable it to service its growing numbers of contracts and expand its business even more this year.

"We have doubled the size of our office and operations," says Brent Nibarger, the company's chief sales & marketing officer, who explains that the five-year-old company has hired six people in engineering and tech support over the last year.

"We now have a staff of 19 employees and the occasional intern and are also looking to hire a couple of people right now to keep up with growth demands."

The company's popular hospital hygiene hand sanitising system utilises a room sensor, a base station and an identification badge to monitor and automatically communicate compliance information. The idea is to help improve compliance and cut down on infections. A joint marketing effort with Steris last Summer to get its technology into more facilities, added five hospitals in that time and it is envisaged that 50 more could be added this year.

"We secured a national contract with Premier, which is the biggest purchasing group in the country," says Brent.
