The Federation of Window Cleaners: the facts

* FWC.jpgEstablished in 1947, the Federation of Window Cleaners is an independent, non-profit making organisation supporting the needs of domestic & commercial window cleaners in the UK.

Its purpose is to support and improve the window cleaning industry by ensuring that the information and training it provides to its members is of the highest standard to help them advance their skills and knowledge of the profession in which they work.

The Federation also represents its members and safeguards their interests with the EU and the Government, as well as with other professional bodies, by working alongside other forums and associations such as the British Cleaning Council, the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health and the HSE Cleaning Industry Health & Safety Liaison Forum (CILF).

Membership offers large or small window cleaning companies numerous benefits including free legal and technical support, health & safety information and discounts on essential business applications, as well as a free copy of the quarterly trade journal 'Window Talk' and the safety training DVD 'Safe use of portable ladders and water-fed poles systems.'

"We offer effective and high quality training courses aimed specifically at the window cleaning industry, in addition to the only Safety Accreditation Scheme 'Safety Accredited Member' (SAM) designed specifically for window cleaning," says the Federation's general secretary, Beryl Murray.
