‘Gum Gulper’ uses steam and biodegradable detergent to break down gum then sucks up slurry
Steam Clean Systems, the Sussex based steam cleaner specialist, has developed a new chewing gum removal system. Named ‘Gum Gulper’, this standalone system utilises super-heated steam and a biodegradable detergent to break down the gum.
Its vacuum feature then allows the operator to remove the slurry – something many other standalone systems leave behind – so the surface is left both clean and dry.
Gum Gulper comes in two forms, the Street Cart version, which incorporates a 4.5 KVA electric start generator, and the Trolley version, which plugs in to a 13amp socket. Both machines come with a full cleaning kit as well as the Gum Gulper Wand, so can be used for street cleaning and graffiti removal as well. Both systems are easy to transport from one location to another.
The system uses very little water; the larger Street Cart version, for example, needs only around nine litres for a whole day’s work and this is carried in a handy canister on the machine. All Steam Clean Systems’ machines have the DeFRA ‘water saving’ award.
Gum Gulper has very little environmental impact and can be used without operators having to cordon off areas of the street. It’s fast too - up to 10 wads of gum can be removed per minute with no time taken for clearing up.
