Canada's future is Clean
There are some 50,000 Canadians employed in the sanitation sector and the organisers of Canada's largest cleaning exhibition, Can Clean, says:
"Every commercial building in the country uses and needs products from this industry. Without these workers and their products, buildings would not be cleaned and very quickly there would be outbreaks of infectious diseases. The impact on the nation's economy could be devastating. Often referred to as the unseen industry, the sanitation sector is worth more than $2 billion a year to the Canadian economy."
2007 is the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Sanitation Supply Association, whose annual trade show - Can Clean 2007 - will take place on May 2nd and 3rd at the Direct Energy Centre (formerly the National Trade Centre) in Toronto. It is the largest trade show of its kind in Canada.
More then 140 manufacturers and distributors from across Canada, the US and Europe will welcome some 4,000 visitors who will find the newest and most innovative cleaning products available. Featured at Can Clean will be environmentally responsible cleaning products; floor care equipment; paper products; washroom products; waste disposal systems; personal care items; mops, brooms, brushes, wringers and buckets; conventional cleaning chemicals; microfibre products; educational material and much more. End users of the products include hospital housekeepers, contract cleaners, environmental service managers, school and church custodians, hotel and motel housekeeping managers, window cleaners, plant managers, carpet cleaners and maintenance supervisors at casinos, private clubs, airports, shopping malls and government installations.
Admittance to Can Clean 2007 is free to CSSA members and end users of sanitary maintenance products. Of special interest to visitors and the media will be the Anniversary Museum, where cleaning tools and equipment from years gone by will be on display.
In addition to all that's happening on the trade show floor, a series of dynamic seminars will explore the hottest industry topics.
