Cleaning gone to the dogs? Don't be barking up the wrong tree...
Wimbledon Stadium, owned by the Greyhound Racing Association, has recently extended and expanded its contract with Ridge Crest Cleaning, utilising the cleaning contractor to deliver new complementary services in a breakthrough service agreement.
The company's initial agreement with Wimbledon was to deliver a basic cleaning contract, but this quickly moved into supplying cleaning 'stewards' during the weekly greyhound meets alongside the weekend stock car racing events. These stewards combined cleaning duties with those of a safety steward.
Following the success of this initial initiative, Ridge Crest assumed full responsibility for the security of the stadium, and now provides SIA approved security officers, receptionists and safety stewards throughout the stadium at every event. In addition it provides a 24 hour security service and it has recently started to provide specialist deep cleaning and hygiene services in the kitchens as well as full maintenance services for the stadium.
GRA Group General Manager Mick Hardy says: "The advantage of being able to expand the contract with a company that you know and trust is immense, and has saved us time and money.
Ian Beach, Managing Director, Ridge Crest Cleaning, said: "By introducing a new waste management and recycling service and integrated environmentally friendly services and products into the stadium, we have managed to save GRA 50% of its waste removal costs at the same time as improving its 'green' credentials.
"By working in partnership with our client we have developed a trusting working relationship, expanded the contract and saved the client money - a perfect outcome!"
The new approach to cleaning and support services has hit the mark as Ridge Crest has recently been successful in bids to start working on three other GRA venues in Oxford, Birmingham and Manchester which come on stream in 2008.
