"A great success," says organiser of first St Petersburg cleaning show
Cleanexpo 2008 held recently in St Petersburg, Russia, for the first time, was a great success, according to the organiser. The 4,907sq.m show attracted 106 exhibitors from 13 countries, together with 4,610 professional visitors.
"It is not an accident that many foreign companies have chosen Cleanexpo as a means of entering the Russian market," says Yu. Lukmanov, Chairman of the Committee on Housing Policy of the St. Petersburg Government. "Cleanexpo will annually demonstrate new equipment and technologies, and reflect market trends. Seminars, presentations, round table discussions and training will be held within the framework of the exhibition.
"The exhibition is a great opportunity for a wide range of industry experts to find out about the latest developments and techniques regarding professional real estate services, establish business contacts and share their knowledge".
A.I. Sergeev, Chairman of Committee for Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade, agrees, saying: "Cleanexpo promotes the establishment of business, industrial and scientific contacts, and attracts investment in the industry. The growing number of exhibitors from the regions of Russia, as well as from abroad, promotes the establishment of inter-regional and international relations."
The exhibitors seem satisfied at the way the first St Petersberg cleaning show had gone.
Stanislav Alifanov, Department Manager (CEE), Technical Consultant, Karcher company, says: "The main aim of our participation was to strengthen our image. Our brand is well-known around the country and we were glad to see our partners. At our stand we demonstrated our floor cleaning equipment; we also attended the seminars on floor cleaning and discovered new detergents. The advantages of the exhibition for us are the new contacts we make and the possibility of communication with clients and competitors. As a rule, 20% of contacts turn into contracts. We were impressed with visitor quality and are planning to take part in next year's show."
Also promising to exhibit next year at the show is Anatoly Puzankov, General Director of the Moscow-based product and equipment distributor Chistosila company, who says: "On the whole, the show leaves a very positive impression. Our aim as an exhibitor was first of all to prove our serious intentions to our partner Fiorentini and to establish new contacts and find new partners. We invited our clients beforehand and held a number of meetings."
Karcher wasn't the only company keen on promoting its brand. Igor Romanishin, Head of the Sales Department, Avangard company, says: "For us, the show was more about strengthening our image. We exhibited to show our clients and competitors that we are active in the market. Another very important aim was to demonstrate our equipment - and in particular our new line. One of the strongest points of the exhibition is the business programme."
Like Karcher, representatives from the Rosel Company were impressed by visitor quality. Alexandr Markov, Account Manager, Rosel Company, says: "CleanExpo can be really called the meeting point of well-known colleagues and partners. The visitors' level of competence has significantly risen too. There were more professionals attending the show, more prepared visitors that stated very specific questions and were looking for concrete information. We always invite our key clients to shows at which we're exhibiting and most of them have come to this one. As for the organisational part of the show, everything was done in time and very well. I think we will exhibit next year."
Also commending the organisation of the event was Janna Konovalova, Sales Manager, International Technical Center. "We liked the show. The organisation was really good. The hall was equipped so that we could demonstrate our floor cleaning machines in action. There were a lot of visitors from the regions; there were also many visitors interested in technics and we got a lot of useful contacts - I am looking forward for further cooperation. Unfortunately, we did not participate in the seminars and conference as we were very busy with negotiations with clients, however, next year we do plan to participate. The exhibition is a good place to meet as you cannot really invite all your regional clients to the office... however at the show you can do that."
Next year, the organiser is promising just as good a show. The Association of Russian Uborochnyh Companies (ARUK) will be organising a conference for contractors entitled: 'How to participate and win in tenders for cleaning services', as well as educational seminars and master classes for end-users such as 'Sanitation and hygiene childcare facilities, including recreational summer camps'.
A further exhibition is being held in the region very soon. Cleanexpo / Pulire will be celebrating its 10th anniverary from 2nd - 4th December 2008 in Moscow.
