Almost half of Americans have or would use domestic cleaning services
Thinking of starting a cleaning business in the US? A recent survey by the US Soap & Detergent Association reveals that 12% of Americans regularly use a residential cleaning service, 8% have used one for help with the spring cleaning, while 27% would consider doing using a residential cleaning service for either regular or spring cleaning.
It also found that women are slightly more likely to consider using a cleaning service, as are those who live in the North Central US, while people living in the Northeast are least likely to consider using a cleaning service.
The SDA, home of the US Cleaning Products Industry, is the non-profit trade association representing manufacturers of household, industrial, and institutional cleaning products, their ingredients and finished packaging; oleochemical producers; and chemical distributors to the cleaning product industry. SDA members produce more than 90% of the cleaning products marketed in the US.
