Comedian Bill Cosby is key speaker at Vegas cleaning show... Registration now open

ISSA/Interclean has secured US comedian Dr Bill Cosby as the keynote speaker for the forthcoming show, which is being held from September 8th - 11th at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas and for which registration has just opened.

Dr. Cosby, who has enjoyed a well-known career spanning five decades of concerts, television, films, commercials and books, will entertain delegates with his talk: 'It's Your Job to Feel Good' on Wednesday, September 10th at 8:30 a.m. Las Vegas Hilton Hotel, Barron Room (adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Centre).

"In today's fast-paced and bottom-line driven world of business, it's not easy to lighten up. When you are trying to do more with less, people become a commodity, and you can lose your sense of personal purpose. So put away the financial statements, set aside your customers' complaints, and join Bill Cosby, one of America's most renowned comedic entertainers, as he leads the ISSA/Interclean audience on a journey to find the true, and often funny, fundamentals of working life!" say the organisers.

"Listen as Dr. Cosby humorously explains that "You better love what you do, otherwise it sure won't love you!" He'll help you ponder what the world would be like without your job and why more people should focus on the personal side of business, especially in the cleaning industry.

"You won't want to miss this memorable keynote by one of America's funniest entertainers as he makes you think twice about your business perspective."

Registration is now open for ISSA/Interclean North America 2008, the show that brings together many key decision-makers in the cleaning industry, allowing you to network with peers, customers, and suppliers - all in one location.

"You'll find 700 exhibitors; more than 35 seminars, workshops, and networking events; and some truly unique entertainment. Expect the unexpected!" say the organisers. "The show is earlier than usual this year so mark your calendars and register today.

After the success of last year's show in Orlando, ISSA is expecting this year's show to be another groundbreaking event for the cleaning industry. In addition to an earlier, September start, this year's event has been scheduled for earlier in the week: Monday, September 8th, kicks off the ISSA Educational Conference while the exhibit floor opens Tuesday and runs through Thursday. (After listening to its members and moving this year's show to Las Vegas, ISSA's usual October slot and Tuesday-Friday schedule were compromised.)

ISSA's popular educational conference will cover everything from green cleaning (see below for examples) to pocket-sized technology and feature a variety of mainstream leaders and industry-specific experts. Seminars also will provide a steady supply of sales, management, operations, and environmental advice and updates, thanks to an extended educational schedule that spans all four show days. "Quite simply, this is a conference you don't want to miss, one in which ISSA will be conducting 'business NOT as usual' with an elite collection of prestigious industry professionals guiding you toward success!" say the organisers

"From our exciting Vegas venue to the fantastic keynote speaker to the popular Show Floor Happy Hour, you'll be provided with plenty of unique experiences to help make this year's ISSA/Interclean unlike any other industry event you attend. Of particular note is the amazing Cirque du Soliel-style aerial act that will take place up above as you socialise with industry professionals during Happy Hour. "

Each Innovation Awards Programme entry this year will be displayed in the centrally located Innovation Extravaganza Area of the show floor, where you can view the items up close, find literature on each, and even watch how-to videos. Mixed into this area will be interactive sports games, where you can try your hand at a variety of fun activities-and maybe even meet a sports celebrity or two. Plus, facilitie service providers and distributors who turn in a completed Innovation Awards voting ballot will receive a free-lunch coupon for US$10 off a meal at designated food-service areas.

Global concerns about air quality, SARS, and threats of avian influenza pandemics have fueled a major increase in health awareness and a corresponding increase in the demand for professional cleaning. In response to these concerns, the health & safety sessions of the 2008 educational conference will include the enlightening seminars 'From Floating Cities to your Facility'; 'Pandemic Preparedness, Beyond Clean'; 'Advanced Environmental Discussion for Executives', and 'From Here to Sustainability: Profits & Pitfalls of the Green Economy'. Another new feature at this year's show is ISSA's Green Connection Pavilion, where you can find the latest environmentally focused services and organisations to help you further your green pursuits.

The International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) is once again an ISSA/Interclean co-locating partner this year, and planning is already well underway for the 2008 IEHA convention. Special IEHA events will include an exciting Housekeeping Olympics event on the show floor and the installation of IEHA's six new directors-at-large and three officer positions, in accordance with this association's new political landscape. More than 600 people will converge on ISSA/Interclean Wednesday, September 10th, to take part in these must-see IEHA activities, which will include vacuum races, bed-making competitions, and floor-pad tossing.

Other co-located events at ISSA/Interclean North America 2008 will include DistriPakUSA (www.distripakusa.com), the show solely dedicated to the industrial and food packaging distribution channel; and the ARCSI Fifth Annual Convention and Educational Conference (www.arcsi.org). ARCSI is the trade association exclusively serving the residential cleaning industry.
