Only a month after launch iDCS healthcare Deep Cleaning service makes BBC's Panorama
The new, specialised hospital and healthcare Deep Cleaning service iDCS launched by City & Kent Cleaning only in March, has already made its television debut on BBC's Panorama.
Panorama is the long-running and highly regarded investigative current affairs programme that recently looked at c. difficile in Britain's hospitals. In the programme, reporter Sally Magnusson revealed how sloppy hygiene, understaffing and overcrowded wards contributed to the spread of the superbug.

However, the programme also showed efforts being made by iDCS to Deep Clean hospitals, an operation in which the service not only draws upon over 30 years experience cleaning in the healthcare environment, but also utilises the latest validated Dry Steam Vapour decontamination technology that has only recently become available.
Dry Steam Vapour decontaminates a variety of hospital surfaces and equipment, and is especially suited to ward deep cleans, especially of beds and the surrounding curtains, cleaning and sanitising hospital equipment such as trolleys, fans and wheelchairs, clinical cleaning of operating theatres, isolation and anaesthetic rooms, as well as public area cleaning such as washrooms.
The programme showed hospital bed frames undergoing Dry Steam Vapour decontamination, as well as the immersion of patient equipment, including commodes, into ultrasonic cleaning vats.
In addition (and not shown in the programme) iDCS also provides air management of wards and isolation rooms, zone control matting, and microfibre - including in-house laundering of used cloths.
In June, those visiting the AHCP (Association of Healthcare Cleaning Professionals) conference in Harrogate, Yorkshire, will have an opportunity to learn more about this intensive approach to deep cleaning.
