A tall storey?

According to an Associated Press report, a Wisconsin window cleaner has endured a six-storey fall but has survived to tell the story of his ordeal.

Alex Clay, 21, said the problem developed when he noticed a clip on his gear for rappelling wasn't fastened. He took comfort though in the fact that his safety line was connected on the back of his harness and the efforts of a colleague to pull him back up.

But he was "too sweaty and tired to make it," he said. "I was hanging on for dear life at that time, even though I had the safety line on."

He did let go, and throughout his fall, Alex kept wondering when the safety line would catch.

He says it never did and that he hit the porch before bouncing off onto the pavement.

Investigators have said that the equipment did eventually help break his fall, ensuring that he only sustained minor injuries.

Alex is keen to get back to his job at Bob Smith Window Cleaning, where he has been employed for four months, but says he doesn't plan on working high buildings again for some time.
