Police in Gwent, Wales, believe that a chemical leak at a South Wales specialist liquid laundry detergent plant was caused deliberately.

Officers called to Eastern Valley Chemicals on the Gilchrist Thomas Industrial Estate in Blaenavon, early one morning last week, discovered that valves had been deliberately turned on - causing large quantities of various chemicals to spill from containers.

Cleanzine understands that although South Wales Fire & Rescue crews were called to the scene, the three spilled chemicals were not hazardous, which meant that the plant's owners were able to clean them up safely.
