EUnited Cleaning members elected new Board

EUnited Cleaning, the European Association of leading cleaning machine manufacturers, held its General Assembly at the recent PULIRE 2009 exhibition in Verona. As well as discussing many topics important to the industry, the assembly elected a new Board for the next three years.

Bernd Heilmann (HAKO) was confirmed as President and the former Vice Presidents Markus Asch (Alfred Kärcher) and Lars Gjødsbøl (Nilfisk Advance) were also re-elected. Further members of the EUnited Cleaning Board are:

Riccardo Raimondi, RCM
Massimiliano Ruffo, COMAC Group
Michael Seeling, Electrostar
Jörg Peter Staehle, Staehle
Marco Verdonkschot, JohnsonDiversey

The members said that they felt the association was achieving success. They said that since it was established three years ago, the co-operation of all leading European manufacturers of commercial cleaning machines had enabled important steps to be taken regarding co-operation with the EU-Commission and other authorities on European Directives such as ‘Eco-design’ and ‘Waste electrical and electronic equipment’, etc. They also said that the influence on European and International standardisation work had been strengthened, with the result that it appears that all related standards will be recast when the new Machinery Directive comes into effect at the end of 2009.

The General Assembly agreed to proceed with the successful work in this respect and to enforce activities in the field of international trade fairs and the collation of worldwide market statistics. It felt that facing such a critical economic situation as manufacturers are nowadays, makes it even more imperative for the members to co-operate strongly to achieve these targets.
