Substantial increase in visitors to ISSA/Interclean Central & Eastern Europe 2009

Last month's ISSA/Interclean Central & Eastern Europe, held in Warsaw, Poland and organised by Amsterdam RAI with ISSA and local partner PSC, enjoyed a very successful fourth edition. With some 182 exhibitors from 25 countries presenting their latest products and services to a global audience of cleaning professionals, the show confirmed its leading position in this part of Europe as the international trade exhibition for the cleaning industry. It was.

Despite the financial tensions on the world market the number of visitors significantly increased to a grand total of 2,811. The ratio of international visitors rose to 23% - of which a considerable part represented visitors from Central & Eastern Europe.

“With our show in Warsaw we are at the gateway of Eastern Europe”, says Amsterdam RAI product manager, Hilke de Vries. “The figures show that ISSA/Interclean has taken the lead in the region”. Marek Kowalski, Board President of the Polish Cleaning Association, and co-organiser of the show, speaks about “a huge response from both exhibitors and attendees. Most important was the appreciation for the benefits reaped from the show. The number of negotiated deals outnumbered those made during the previous three editions together.”

Exhibitor feedback has been positive too:

Helen Sanderson from UK company P+L Systems describes the show as “very well organized. The exhibitor scope was a good reflection of the industry. The crowd was also very good, end users and distributors, representing a balanced mix of nationalities.” Michèl de Bruin, representing Dutch exhibitor Greenspeed, comments: “ISSA/Interclean Central & Eastern Europe was a great first experience! We definitely collected some interesting leads and ISSA/Interclean CEE has been a successful platform for us to enter this challenging market.” Jonas Mellquist from Polish company Stargard Borst was equally full of praise. “We participate in many trade fairs in Poland and ISSA/Interclean CEE 2009 exceeded our expectations with a very high standard of both exhibitors and visitors.”

There was lots more going on at the show. ISSA Director of European Services, Keith Baker, chaired a meeting of cleaning associations from CEE countries which included Poland, Russia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Estonia and Kazakhstan. This ground breaking meeting was followed by a conference programme which was attended by representatives from Europe, North America and the Middle East.

The Golden Broom Innovations Award also demonstrated the international flavour of the show with entries from The Netherlands, UK, Poland and Germany. Winner in the category Cleaning Systems, Solutions, Concepts & Chemicals was Daunpol Sp. z o.o. with its NanoClean technology. Czysta Polska Waldemar Kups won the award with its floor washer Clean Time CT 40 Micro-fibra version in the category ‘Machines & Utensils’. Finally Tork/SCA Hygiene Products was elected winner of the best stand by the visitors.
