Hospitals in India's fifth largest city inspected for cleanliness
The health and sanitation facilities at a number of hospitals in Kanpur, India's fifth largest city, were inspected recently following an order by the Chief Minister, reports the Times of India.
During his tour, principle inspector Ashok Kumar asked patients and their families for their views on the cleanliness of the facilities as well as other aspects of their hospital stays or visits. He also instructed the hospital authorities to be constantly aware of the hygiene and cleanliness of the premises.
At the district hospital - Ursala Horsman Memorial - he expressed concern over sanitation levels and gave instructions on how the patients' toilets and washrooms should be maintained, instructing the chief medical officer to ensure that they are regularly cleaned.
