To mark its 20th anniversary, Principle Cleaning Services held a celebratory event on 20th May for staff, clients, suppliers and guests. Valued client Christie’s - the world famous auction house, kindly played host and provided an exquisite room for the evening.

There, over 150 guests were privy to a unique exhibition of 21st Century British art, including a coastal scene that Sir Winston Churchill had painted during the 1930s, in which he demonstrated his fascination with the sea breaking on the shore. ‘The Seashore’ was given to William Greenshields, Churchill's butler between 1948 and 1953 as a gift and it was sold to benefit the Queens Silver Jubilee Trust.

Throughout the evening, guests were treated to delicious canapés and drinks which culminated in an extremely entertaining speech by Managing Director, Douglas Cooke.

Rounding off with presentations to thoroughly deserving, long serving and retiring staff, special mentions were dedicated to Rita Sefton, Secretary with 16 years’ service, Franciso Duarte, Operations Director who has been with the company for 20 years and Ursula Watson, Executive Director, who recently retired.

Principle Cleaning Services also recognises that is has a corporate social responsibility and is keen to put something back into the north London area where its head office is situated. It has pledged long-term help for the London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy and staff regularly take part in various fund raising events.

At the event a cheque for £12,000 was presented to Deepa Korea, Chief Executive of the Centre. The money was collected last year through staff fundraising and a proportion of the company’s profits.
