Torking shop: new publication shares industry knowledge

A publication designed to share industry knowledge on vital topics such as hygiene and efficiency has just been launched by Tork manufacturer SCA Tissue Europe.

The Tork Report will be published three times a year and comprise academic and general articles written by professionals both inside and outside the cleaning industry.

“Topics such as hygiene and the environment are in the forefront of people’s minds at the moment,” says SCA Tissue Europe marketing communications co-ordinator Jamie Wright. “At the same time, issues such as swine flu are increasing people’s awareness of the importance of hygiene in the workplace.

“Issue 1 of the Tork Report includes an article from an academic doctor on how infections are spread in the home and at work, and how these can be avoided. We feel that researching vital topics in this way and sharing our findings with customers is a responsible way to conduct our business as a hygiene company.”

Six issues of the Tork Report are being planned initially to cover subjects such as the environment, efficiency, productivity and social change as well as hygiene.

“All of these are highly relevant to our customers, and we feel they can only benefit from having access to academic analysis and research presented in this digestible format,” says Jamie.

The first issue of the Tork Report is out now and those interested in receiving it can sign up to do so via the Tork website at www.tork.co.uk/torkreport/subscribe. Issue 2 will be published later in the year.

As a business group within the Swedish SCA Group, SCA Tissue Europe employs approximately 8,600 people and generated a turnover of approximately two billion euros in 2006.
