Improve cleaning and greening while cutting costs

Xpedx, one of the largest US distributors of cleaning and maintenance supplies and equipment, says it can show property owners and managers how they can reduce total cleaning costs while improving building cleanliness, health, safety and sustainability.

The company claims it can reduce total operating costs through streamlined procurement, waste reduction and budget controls, as well as product standardisation and training, while expanding cleaning efficiency and productivity. New branded products, equipment, techniques and training are available from xpedx and its well-respected supplier network.

The company will also share details about its new programme that provides property owners and managers with documentation for LEED-EB compliance through xpedx.com.

"Xpedx has a wide range of cleaning products and equipment and a strong national service platform," says Michael Feenan, vice president of marketing. "We are able to handle your needs for a single building--or a portfolio of buildings across the US -- while helping you maximise hard dollars on your total spending through our specially customised programmes."

The company has a variety of tools that help facilities managers meet their environmental goals. Top among these are the Environmental Solutions portfolio and new green reporting capabilities for LEED-certified and other customers who wish to document procurement of green products and equipment.

Xpedx has compiled the most current information available about environmentally preferable cleaning products by top manufacturers including 3M, GoJo Industries, Heritage Bag, JohnsonDiversey, Kimberly-Clark, Rubbermaid Commercial Products, SCA Tissue, Tennant/Noble and many more including the company's own brands, Regency and Reliable. The xpedx Environmental Solutions portfolio, available now, is a comprehensive resource for any building owner or manager who needs to understand the environmental benefits, attributes and certifications of the products and equipment they purchase most often.

Beginning next Monday, Xpedx will offer LEED reporting capabilities to its customers via xpedx.com. The company has collected the extensive data necessary to provide reports on LEED-eligible products to its customers managing LEED-certified buildings.

"Sifting through invoices for products that meet LEED certification requirements is a laborious and time-consuming process for facilities managers. Xpedx has developed a system that makes it extremely easy for them," says Michael Feenan. "With a click of the mouse at xpedx.com, customers can generate time-sensitive reports that can be submitted to the US Green Building Council. These reports help them obtain or maintain their LEED certification by documenting their purchase of eligible products."

These same reporting capabilities can assist all customers with their corporate sustainability marketing. Users will be able to generate reports on purchased products containing certifications from, or meeting guidelines of the US Environmental Protection Agency, US Green Building Council (LEED), Green Seal, EcoLogo, DfE (Design for the Environment), GreenGuard, Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and other organisations.
