Take Part in Shaping the Agenda for Better Life!

 
We need new approaches to overcome the challenges facing the environment worldwide. Chemistry plays a significant role in finding and contributing to sustainable solutions for environmental problems and consumer concerns. This is why the Helsinki Chemicals Forum is inviting national and international authorities, companies and industry associations, international organisations, non-governmental bodies, human interest groups, and academia for an open dialogue with true impact.
 
The second global Helsinki Chemicals Forum will take place May 20th -21st  May 2010 at the Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre. The European Chemicals Agency’s (ECHA) 4th Stakeholders’ Day will take place on May 19th at same venue.

The Helsinki Chemicals Forum is organised by the Chemicals Forum Association in co-operation with the European Commission, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) and the Finnish Government with partners including the City of Helsinki, Greater Helsinki Promotion, the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, and the University of Helsinki.
The Helsinki Chemicals Forum will set an Agenda to make a difference and the schedule is as follows:
Wednesday, May 19th:
 
09.00–17.00 ECHA’s 4th Stakeholders’ Day, organised by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA)
18.00–21.00 HCF 2010 registration
Thursday, May 20th:
 
8.30–9.30 Registration and coffee

9.30–10.30 Opening Ceremony with Member of the Government of Finland, Member of the European Commission, Mr Jussi Pajunen - Lord Mayor of Helsinki, Mr Geert Dancet - Executive Director, ECHA

11.00–13.00 CHEMICALS REGULATION – GLOBAL CHALLENGES: Can REACH Become the New Global Model?
A round trip to different regulatory initiatives around the world. What is happening in chemicals regulation outside the EU and what kinds of global challenges and opportunities do these developments bring?

Change continues in the chemical industry and competitiveness is the driving force behind it. How are the roles divided between industry and society?
