'Green' air purifier is US Energy Star-qualified
Alen Corporation says its newly launched AirMD will be the only 'green' portable air purifier in the US that is certified lead-free, ozone friendly and Energy Star qualified by both the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.
Backed by a lifetime warranty, the four-speed, portable unit marries modern decor-enhancing design with an advanced HEPA filtration system, a UV lamp that should last from three to five years, an ioniser and a 24-hour programmable timer.
"Lead is a highly toxic metal and a recent study even links early exposure to lead, to Alzheimer's disease," says Peter Mann, CEO, Alen Corporation. "We are offering the first 'green' lead-free air purifier in the US that is Energy Star qualified. Energy Star rated products can save about a third on energy bills with similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions."
Best used in areas up to 400 sq.ft., the AirMD weighs 17 lbs, is 8in wide x 11in deep x 28in high, and has power consumption of 55W. The design is a translucent outer core with two color choices for the inner core - bamboo green or white.
