Rotofoam and Rotoclean: clean from a distance

The washroom is essentially a biohazardous waste transfer station where many bodily fluids are spilt. Each toilet flush, for example, creates an aerosol that contains potentially biohazardous particles such as E-coli that are disbursed into the air, settling on static transfer points such as floors, dispensers, faucets and door handles. Effective cleaning and proper hygiene is the best and only defence - and this is where the Rotofoam and Rotoclean cleaning system from Rosemor comes in, as it facilitates cleaning and sanitising 'from a distance'. Completely removing soils, urine and germs that traditional mops can leave behind, this system combines an automatic chemical metering system and injection, an indoor pressure washer and a powerful wet vacuum into a single system.

The system offers a dignified way of cleaning a washroom, without the cleaner ever having to touch contaminated surfaces or crawl around in front of toilets and urinals; this also creates a sense of increased safety.

The user applies the foam cleaning solution to fixtures, walls and floors by means of a low-pressure fan spray. The solution is left to work for two or three minutes so it can create a chemical action, which loosens and emulsifies dirt and grime in preparation for vacuum extraction, in addition to transforming residual, dehydrated soils such as dried urine, into a liquid solution. The prepared surfaces are then pressure rinsed with fresh water, power rinsing hard-to-reach areas and effectively transferring contaminants to the floor by means of a strong blast of water.   A high-flow extraction process is provided by a wet-vacuum system, transporting the unwanted material into a recovery tank where it is contained and quarantined, leaving the surface clean, dry and ready for use and far less likely to support bacterial growth.

As well as delivering up to 90% chemical savings and an estimated 40% time saving when compared with traditional methods of washroom cleaning, the system ensures that there is no cross-contamination between chemicals, while neutralising the odours that are caused by bacteria.

One of Rosemor's most valued customers is ISS. Gail Graham, Operations manager says: "I think we were all impressed and delighted with the machine and the effective way in which it cleans."

Rosemor says it takes approximately 15 minutes to clean a 50sq.m washroom with 10 sanitary fixtures and that 500 gm of detergent and 30 litres of water is used in the process.
