Remove chewing gum safely and efficiently
Carelessly discarded chewing gum is always a problem and there seems to be so much more of it sticking around at this time of year, when those who might normally be more careful have had their judgment impaired by excess celebratory alcohol! As a result, cleaning contractors and building owners are constantly looking for reliable and safe ways to remove the stuff without damaging the surface to which it has been stuck.
Envirodri offers a ready-to-use formula that efficiently breaks down the gum on any surface - including carpet. It works equally well on chewing gum and bubble gum.
For the best results you simply perforate or scratch the surface of the gum with a sharp implement, before pouring a small quantity of Envirodri Gum Remover onto it and allowing a few minutes for the product to take effect. Then, working from the outside towards the centre, you scrape up the softened gum using a scraper.
On certain commercial carpets, which may suffer from large quantities of gum, it is possible to use an Envirodri carpet cleaning machine with a stiff bristle brush to agitate and remove the softened gum, although care must be taken not to damage the carpet fibres through excessive aggressive brushing and scraping. You can then apply Dry Carpet Cleaner Microsponges onto the area; this will help absorb and remove the gum and will also remove any excess gum remover.
