Final countdown to Facilities Show

Next week looks set to be an absolute stormer as the Facilities Show unleashes its magic on London for the first time. With the exclusive support of the British Institute of Facilities Management, the national show for this burgeoning industry aims to reflect the dynamic state of facilities management.

From heatmapping to agile working to the latest energy efficient lighting, the entire show is dedicated to getting the best out of commercial premises and facilitating the best out of a workforce.

With more than 350 exhibitors, there are endless opportunities to find new suppliers and product solutions. Key supplier areas include: Total Facilities Management, cleaning, maintenance, waste management, pest control, vending, security, interior design, catering, IT and office supplies.

"The show is 20% bigger this year and that alone is a bellwether for the industry," says Fergus Bird, Group Event Manager, UBM Live.

"The demand for education and networking remains as strong as ever; we have seen this evidenced by registrations as we have announced different sessions. All this indicates a profession that is highly active."

Top names exhibiting include MITIE - a show partner for the second year running, PHS, Vinci, Norland, Automatic Vending Association, Harrow Green, Vetasi, NFS Hospitality, McFarlane Telfer and Servest Group.

30 products and services have been awarded innovation status by the organisers. The 'Innovation Trail' includes a ride-on sweeper by Karcher, a hi-tech workplace occupancy sensor by Condeco Software, drone helicopter surveys by Higham Roofing and a new range being launched by Sebo.

Free education can be found in five theatres: BIFM Knowledge Theatre, Facilities Show Keynote Theatre, Facilities Show Academy, BIFM Networking Hub and Interiors Zone Seminar Theatre.

One key session attracting a lot of attention is the TFM panel debate on Tuesday 17th featuring Martyn Freeman, managing director, Mitie facilities management; Gareth Rhys Williams, CEO, PHS Group, Martin Holt, CEO, Bellrock, Tony Sanders, managing director, Commercial Division, Interserve. Another panel debate on Thursday 19th featuring Guy Stallard, head of facilities, KPMG, Richard Sykes, CEO, ISS UK and CJ Howden, HR director, Servest Group, looks set to draw a big crowd.

The De-Ice Arena, which is a replica football stadium, is set to be the networking and entertainment hub of the event. It will host lots of new features including 'Meet the Buyers', Social Media Buying Service and exhibitor penalty shoot-out competition.

De-Ice are also hosting an after-show party on Thursday 19th which will show England vs. Uruguay, another win on the path to World Cup glory for Roy Hodgson's men. (#WeStillBelieve).

UBM Live's Protection & Management Series unites business professionals across the fields of security, fire, safety, facilities, energy and environment at IFSEC International, Safety & Health Expo, Facilities Show, FIREX International and Energy & Environment Expo. In 2014 the events will take place at the ExCeL London from 17th - 19th June.
