UAE's cleaning industry poised for Expo 2020

With the United Arab Emirates having been officially named as the host of the Expo 2020, activities within the country have surged. The construction sector in Dubai alone is positioned to overtake the overall UAE market; in fact, according to news reports, growth across all the emirates is expected to remain healthy at 6.6% despite low oil prices.

It has been estimated that Expo 2020 will receive over 25 million visitors - with 70% travelling from abroad. In anticipation of this, the emirate of Dubai aims to have doubled the number of hotel rooms to 164,000 by 2020.

With Dubai's vision of becoming a smart, sustainable city and the cleanest in the world, Expo 2020 offers an opportunity for the cleaning & hygiene industry to shine. Thus, the 4th edition of Clean Middle East Pulire (CMEP) will be the ideal platform for this industry to showcase its latest innovations and technologies to a wide rangingf audience. CMEP - part of the Middle East Cleaning Technology Week (MECTW) is the Middle East's largest exhibition that brings together cleaning service providers, equipment and chemicals suppliers under one roof.

Sealed Air Diversey Care is committed to the overall cleaning & hygiene standards encompassing sustainability in the Middle East and is investing significantly in bringing the right innovations to the region, some of which will be showcased at CMEP 2016. Samit Sanyal, the company's marketing director - Middle East and North East Africa, says:

"With the declaration of Expo 2020, there is an increase in infrastructure standards as well as a spotlight focus from the government to improve public services like the airports, metro stations, tram services, etc. This goes hand in hand with a requirement of high-level cleaning and hygiene protocols, which is a commitment Sealed Air - Diversey Care would bring to the Middle East.

"We offer our support to facilities management companies as well as building owners to design and create ideal cleaning & hygiene standards and programmes to enable effective and visible performance standards as well as improve productivity."

Speaking on the development of MECTW and CMEP over the years is Jayaraman Nair, chairman, VIS Exhibitions & Conferences (organiser of the event). He says: "MECTW is poised to meet and be in line with Dubai's aim of the being the world's cleanest and most sustainable city. Through this show, we aim at reinforcing the Middle East's and the UAE's position as one of the world's leading commercial cleaning industries in terms of quality, innovation and environmental responsibility."

Clean Middle East Pulire 2016 will be organised under the umbrella of MECTW from November 13th -15th at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Dubai.

MECTW has been conceptualised with the objective of focusing attention on creating a sustainable future by bringing all facets of the cleaning industry under a single umbrella. It offers a platform to promote scientific cleaning practices, latest products, technologies and services to potential buyers in the MENA region. Under its umbrella are Gulf Laundrex & Linen Care Expo and Gulf Car Wash & Car Care Expo along with Clean Middle East Pulire - which in 2016 introduces new pavilions dedicated to waste management, sewerage and sanitation and specialised cleaning.
