Kimberly-Clark Professional launches Washroom 5D programme

* KCP.jpgWashroom 5D is a new consultative service for facilities managers and facility management teams that focuses on three core stages: Discover, Compare, and Improve.

The programme enables facilities managers to maximise the business and commercial benefits of washroom excellence and stay ahead of the competition.

"The Washroom 5D programme combines all we know about a winning washroom operation in 5-Dimensions of improvement: Cleanliness, Hygiene, Efficiency, Sustainability, and Satisfaction," explains Ed Borrini, the company's target market leader for office buildings.

"These key dimensions are the main areas of the washroom where potential issues often exist."

Research reveals that 71% of office workers think an office washroom reflects on the facility's manager. Washroom 5D asks and answers the question to facilities managers: "How do you measure up?". It focuses on comparing their washrooms against best practice, discovering the gaps and problem areas, and then provides the means to improve standards and ultimately satisfaction levels.

Central to the Washroom 5D process is a site assessment by a Kimberly-Clark Professional consultant to discover the gaps and opportunities to improve, with the help of measurement tools. Data from the assessment is analysed and feedback provided with a report on how the washroom compares against industry benchmark standards.

"No other global facility management organisation is benchmarking operations, standards or user experiences in the washroom; one of the leading causes of client complaints," adds Ed. "The typical office worker visits the washroom three to four times a day... With an average sized facility that equals more than 1.1 million annual satisfaction or complaint opportunities.

"The analysis of data collected provides a fact-based and objective view on how a washroom measures up and how it can be improved to maximise client satisfaction levels - which in turn can dramatically influence contract renewals."

The Washroom 5D assessment report provides recommendations, products and tools to further measure and improve the washroom experience. Devices such as people door counters to measure traffic, 'Happy or Not' satisfaction terminals, and tenant surveys enable customers to collect data on end-user experiences of their washrooms.

"The programme is enabled by Kimberly-Clark Professional's depth of understanding and unrivalled experience in thousands of washroom environments," says Ed. "Nearly 80% of global facilities managers know that their office restroom influences tenant satisfaction but are under constant pressure of budgets and time.

"With Washroom 5D we give facilities managers the method to identify sensible changes that lead to measurable improvements in those important client satisfaction levels, and help uncover washroom operational efficiencies that allow them to cut costs, reduce waste and invest their cleaning budget where it matters.

"We want to help facilities managers continuously improve and create an exceptional workplace by perfecting the washroom environment.

"Washroom 5D drives greater efficiency and better user satisfaction by combining Lean methodology, unrivalled experience and world-class products."
