Holchem goes global with training sessions in Ghana

* holchem.jpgHolchem, the Pilsworth, UK-based hygiene technology solutions provider, has spread its wings and knowledge base to reach international shores by carrying out a series of training sessions with Blue Skies Foods in Ghana.

Holchem's technical service manager Sarah West carried out a four-day tour designed to educate the team at Blue Skies' fruit slicing and juice plants. It included carrying out hygiene audits and Cleaning in Place investigations as well as extensive CIP background training with the Blue Skies Hygiene team that involved how CIP works and operates as well as chemical safety and hygiene training.

The manufacturer boasts a large technical, research and development team in the UK and the trip to Ghana is part of its commitment to imparting its knowledge to international companies to help them meet their hygiene and cleaning needs.

"The visit to Ghana was a great experience and is an important part of Holchem's commitment to working with and helping companies achieve the required levels of hygiene standards and chemical safety knowledge," says Sarah.

"I was really impressed with how the workforce of Blue Skies took on board so quickly all the information from the training sessions and advice on how to implement a successful hygiene plan.

"It's such an impressive site and the high standards of hygiene were very impressive.

"It's testament to the quality of Holchem's offering that we can impart our knowledge far and wide and help train our peers around the world."

Stephan Morris, Blue Skies group technical manager comments: "All our people in Ghana enjoyed Sarah's visit. Her enthusiasm and energy, combined with her knowledge and experience enabled her to communicate complex information very effectively, and there is nothing that Ghanaian people appreciate more than education."

A family business that started life in 1982, Holchem now has a turnover of £35m and 188 members of staff headquartered from its 105,000 square feet of fully modernised facilities including a state of the art gym and staffroom for employees.
