CHSA Golf Day raises record breaking £6,500 for charity
One of the highlights of the cleaning industry calendar, the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers' Association's annual Golf Day, which took place last week at Oulton Hall, Yorkshire, raised a record breaking £6,500 for the Chairman's charity, Helping Treat Cancer Together.
The evening dinner was hosted by BBC TV's Dan Walker and its fund raising credentials attracted former Premier League and England footballer, Ian Wright.
Guests were treated to a Question and Answer session packed with great anecdotes, the host of Football Focus, Dan Walker, putting his own and the audience's questions to Ian Wright. Guests also got Ian Wright's predictions for the Premier League this season.
"Our Golf Day is always a popular fixture," says Shaun Chatterton, CHSA council member and the driving force behind the Golf Day. "With the added treat of Ian Wright on the course and giving his time for the Q&A and Dan's skillful and very entertaining handling of the day, it's no wonder many said it was the best ever!"
The winning team came from Harrison Wipes (Stephen Harrison, Alistair Needler, Steven March and Alex Belt), with Arco coming second and last year's champions, Greyland Chemicals, coming third.
Golfers and non-golfers alike were also treated to a spectacular display of trick golf by Tricky Rob!
"We're incredibly pleased to have raised so much for Helping Treat Cancer Together," adds Shaun. "The generosity of our members combined with the wonderful Auction prizes donated by Sky Bet and Eligo mean we were able to raise more than ever before. A huge thank you to everyone who took part."
The Helping Treat Cancer Together Committee helps cancer patients with treatment costs the NHS will not fund where the patient's doctors believe there is a reasonable chance the treatment will provide a cure, prolong life expectancy or improve quality of life.
