Vectair Systems crowned one of the world's greenest manufacturers for its V-Air Solid air freshener

* Vectair-V-Air-SOLID.jpgFollowing last year's success of being recognised as an 'International Green World Ambassador', Vectair Systems has now won a prestigious 'Green World Environment Award' in the international campaign to find the greenest countries, companies and communities.

Basingstoke-based hygiene manufacturer Vectair competed against more than 500 other nominees in the Green World Awards for Environmental Best Practice, and was presented with a trophy and certificate at a glittering presentation in Bucheon, South Korea on 28th October 2016.

Vectair won the Bronze Award in the Engineering and Manufacturing category for its environmentally-friendly V-Air Solid multi-phasing air freshener with sub-micron technology.

Other British winners included Vauxhall England, George@Asda and Oxford Brookes University.

V-Air Solid is classified as VOC exempt and waste-free. It is completely free of any solvents, propellants, HFCs and harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs). V-Air Solid does not contain batteries and is classed as non-hazardous for transportation methods. It is designed so that it does not need any external power source such and it doesn't rely on gravity - all it needs to work is natural airflow. The refill is biodegradable and the dispenser is 100% recyclable. The V-Air Solid cartridge clip & plastic packaging components are manufactured from recycled and recyclable plastics.

The award judges commented: "Air fresheners in public facilities are products that are more likely noticed when they are not installed, but when used they can have VOC, recycling and waste implications. Vectair is a major global supplier and wanted to improve the sustainability of these products, so the company invented a recyclable and biodegradable passively-dispersed system that uses no propellants or electricity - yet performs as well as any other system."

Paul Wonnacott, managing director and president, Vectair Systems says: "We are thrilled that we have been recognised - not only on a national level, but on a global level - for our V-Air Solid air freshener.

"We pride ourselves on being an innovator in hygiene and the environment is something that our customers are increasingly becoming aware of."

The awards are organised by The Green Organisation, an international, independent, non- political, non-profit environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting * VECTAIR_RESTROOM.jpgenvironmental best practice around the world.

They are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, the Chartered Institution for Wastes Management and other independent bodies.
