Adler & Allan wins BITC Award for its flood support services
Asset protection and oil & environmental services specialist, Adler & Allan, won The Barclays Award for Building Resilient Business at the 2017 BITC Responsible Business Awards, announced last week at London's Royal Albert Hall.
Adler & Allan's achievement is in recognition of its flood response, recovery and resilience program in Cumbria, following the devastating 2015/16 storms, Desmond and Eva.
A&A delivered emergency response and clean up services and after the flooding subsided, support centres were set-up in affected areas to provide advice and help eligible recipients access the government's grants. Adler & Allan also installed flood mitigation measures where required.
Commenting, the company's Mark Calvert said: "I would like to thank everyone at Adler & Allan involved in the project, in particular the team based in Cumbria, who worked tirelessly alongside local community groups and councils to help flood affected victims following 2015/16's storms and who still continue to provide support for those affected.
"We feel honoured to be recognised as the winner of The Barclays Award for Building Resilient Business, it's a great achievement, especially for the worthwhile cause of helping UK communities deal with and prepare for these events; something that is likely to affect more of us as flooding becomes more commonplace."
Now in their 20th year, the BITC Awards champion the most inspiring businesses which are making a difference by taking action to build more inclusive workplaces, stronger communities and tackle our biggest environmental challenges.
