Principle CEO goes undercover in Nantes
Douglas Cooke, chief executive of Principle Cleaning Services - the London-based cleaning specialist, will be speaking at the French Federation's (FEP) conference in Nantes next week, on 22nd November, in his role as chair of the Cleaning & Support Services Association (CSSA).
His presentation - 'Undercover Boss and Daytime Cleaning', brings a fun element to the serious issue of how to give the best possible service to clients in the most cost effective and productive way.
Undercover Boss (not to be confused with the TV programme), highlights Doug's own experience of working on the frontline at Principle with the help of a disguise.
One of his findings was that companies with night-time cleaning regimes could benefit from moving to daytime cleaning. Thus, cleaners would be employed for a full working day, they would receive the London Living Wage, they would help to build relationships with clients and would become more valued. An added benefit was that people tended to keep their workplaces tidier.
Doug, who has presented to contractors in Auckland, Paris, Moscow, Glasgow and London, says: "Going undercover was a very interesting exercise with some very valuable outcomes. For example, hearing about people's day-to-day tasks and learning how these may be performed more effectively led to a move towards daytime cleaning for a number of companies.
"The two aspects of my presentation go hand in hand and I am looking forward to speaking in Nantes."
The CSSA, which has 100 members, was established in 1966, and provides a national voice for contract cleaning companies across the country; talking to the Government on their behalf, giving members valuable content and advice to make their businesses better and stronger, and bringing the industry together to socialise and share best practice.
