Spectrum Hygiene moves after giving its customers a good roasting!

* Spectrum-Hygiene.jpgNorwich-based Spectrum Hygiene has moved into a new 10,000 sq ft warehouse, moving from its previous 7,000 sq ft facility. With a current annual turnover of £4M for the company and its subsidiaries, the new warehouse is a pivotal factor in Spectrum's ambitious plans to increase sales by as much as 50% in the next two years.

So why give customers a roasting?

Well one of the subsidiary companies is South East Coffee Company Ltd, which naturally augments Spectrum Hygiene's cleaning chemicals supply business to restaurants and hotels in the East Anglia region. Customers are invited to South East Coffee's roasting specialists in Kings Lynn, where restaurant and hotel proprietors can devise their own bespoke coffee blend with experts, which is then roasted to perfection.

"This service elevates us way above any ordinary 'take it or leave it' supplier who just sends in standard pre-packaged coffee brands widely available anywhere," says South East Coffees MD Carl Chilton.

"Each unique coffee blend is individually roasted to suit the customer's taste and packaged especially for them, making a truly special statement about their restaurant."

The proposition has worked so well for Spectrum that beginning only five years ago as an add-on to the janitorial supply business, South East Coffee now enjoys £1M annual sales.

As a member of the Caterbar buying group, Spectrum Hygiene almost exclusively serves the hotel and catering sector in their region, along with a growing number of care homes, also included due to the catering aspect.

By offering great value for money to customers for its Greyland brand chemicals, of which they offer the full range of washroom, hard and soft floor cleaning chemicals, area deodorisers, polishes and soaps, plus of course for its bespoke coffees, Spectrum Hygiene has grown by word of mouth and customer recommendations for its products and service.

As part of the growth plans to become a 'one-stop shop', Spectrum will soon add other table-top items such as crockery and cutlery to its range.

Damian Potter, MD of Spectrum Hygiene, adds: "Local enterprises like to deal with local suppliers; we at Spectrum Hygiene and South East have been serving them all successfully for fifteen years, now with five delivery vans on the road, whilst at the same time bringing in innovation and new products. It keeps us busy!"

Richard Dyson MD of Greyland, along with sales director James Brough, took time out to congratulate Damian on the new move.

"Spectrum Hygiene has been a valued, growing customer for Greyland brand chemicals ever since they joined the Caterbar buying group two years ago, and we are pleased to see them in new premises which will help them grow their business to the next level. We wish them every success."
