ISS ranked first in ESG report

* ISS-ESG.jpgEnvironment, Social & Governance (ESG) rating agency Sustainalytics has ranked ISS first as the overall ESG leader among its industry peers.

ISS received the highest overall score of 84 out of 100 among the 89 companies rated in the 'Commercial Services' sector. Released yesterday, the Sustainalytics' ESG report highlights ISS as a leader on environmental, social and governance issues compared to its industry peers.

According to the report, ISS's overall management of ESG issues is strong compared with peers in other industries, especially in the areas of Human Capital, Occupational Health & Safety and Bribery & Corruption.

"We are extremely proud and humbled to be ranked as a leader in our Industry," says Joseph Nazareth, head of group health, safety, environment and quality & corporate responsibility.

"Being a company with more than 480,000 employees around the world, environmental, social and governance issues are directly embedded in our business strategy and operations. We see ESG issues as top priority and we are continuously looking for areas where we can improve."

The report, used by investors to identify and understand financially material ESG risks, evaluates companies' performance on a wide variety of ESG issues, ranking organisations from 1 to 100. The ESG issues are organised into three main categories, Environment, Social and Governance, where the total score of each category contributes to each company's overall score.
