ISSA appoints Dennis Goodwin business development manager for UK, Ireland and Middle East

* Dennis-Goodwin_ISSA.jpgISSA has announced the appointment of Dennis Goodwin as its new education and certification business development manager. Dennis will be responsible for the development, marketing and sales of ISSA training, certification, and education programmes in the UK, Ireland and the Middle East.

Reporting to Manuela D'Agata, ISSA's international education and certification director, Dennis joins the Association's international education and certification team, which also includes Alexandra Adams, international programme coordinator. His appointment reflects ISSA's efforts to further build education and certification services such as the Cleaning Industry Management Standard programme and various training opportunities across the globe. Dennis will operate out of a home office in the UK.

"Dennis will work closely with industry professionals, ISSA members, as well as potential members, and our team to develop a wide range of ISSA training and educational activities that respond to the needs of these specific cleaning markets," says Manuela.

Dennis has more than 25 years' experience in the cleaning industry with a strong track record in sales and marketing, primarily gained in the high-value technical product arena. Having worked for international companies such as Hako GmbH, Tennant and Kärcher, he has built and developed successful distribution channels in the UK and Europe, gaining an outstanding reputation in the market.

Says Dennis: "I'm excited about the new challenge and look forward to using my industry experience to advance the education and certification programme. I am thrilled to help bring more professionalism and quality assurance to the industry as well as strengthen the skills and knowledge of cleaning professionals."

Dianna Steinbach, ISSA vice president of international services, says of the appointment: "Dennis adds great value to the global ISSA team with his international cleaning industry expertise and his strong network.

"His dedication and enthusiasm will be a great asset as ISSA continues to grow education and certification opportunities in Europe and the Middle East."

CIMS is a standard of management excellence designed to help building service contractors and in-house service providers develop quality, customer-focused organisations. The core CIMS framework is built around five principles of effective management: Quality Systems; Service Delivery; Human Resources; Health, Safety, and Environmental Stewardship; and Management Commitment. The optional sixth dimension of the Standard, Green Buildings, sets forth the elements of a comprehensive green cleaning programme and enables cleaning organisations to help their customers achieve points with the US Green Building Council's LEED for Existing Buildings: Operations & Maintenance (LEED EB: O&M) Green Building Rating System. The USGBC's LEED EB: O&M green building rating standard includes CIMS-Green Building as a direct compliance option for its 'Green Cleaning Policy' prerequisite. To satisfy the prerequisite, facilities can now either develop and implement a comprehensive green cleaning policy or simply use a CIMS- Green Building certified cleaning service provider.
