Intu awarded Overall Loo of the Year Awards trophy

Loo-of-the-year-2019.jpgIntu, which owns some of the best shopping centres in the UK, has been awarded the Overall Loo of the Year Awards Trophy in the 2019 Loo of the Year Awards.

With 20 centres across the UK and Spain, Intu's whole business is focused on creating the best places for shopping and leisure, so that visitors visit more often and stay longer. Part of this focus is on providing customer washrooms that meet the needs of all types of users including Changing Places facilities.

Four of Intu's shopping centres were awarded the new and prestigious Diamond Loo of the Year Award grade (with the remainder all achieving a Platinum Award grade), three national awards were also awarded along with the UK Retail Market Sector Award and the UK Baby Changing Facilities Trophy.

'Intu has entered Loo of the Year Awards for several years and won many awards,' explains Awards managing director, Mike Bone. Its high standards of washroom provision, cleaning and maintenance have been recognised.'

Intu was also awarded the 2019 UK Overall Washroom Cleaner of the Year Awards Trophy and Catherine Kerr, a cleaner at Intu Victoria in Nottingham, was awarded the UK Individual Cleaner Trophy. Fife Coast & Countryside Trust was presented with the In-House Cleaning Team Trophy and Mitie/VSG won the External Contractor Team Trophy.

McLean Restaurants T/A McDonalds was the Loo of the Year Awards Individual Categories Trophy winner and other major UK and Ireland trophy winners including JD Wetherspoon, Danfo (UK), ABM UK, Chichester District Council, Dornoch Firth Caravan Park, Tain and Oxford Direct Services. The winners were selected from entries in 61 entry categories across all market sectors.

Guests from throughout the UK, including representatives from leading cleaning and facilities management companies, attended the special awards presentation event last Friday at the four-star voco St Johns Hotel Solihull. After lunch entertainment was provided by the outstanding Ben Hanlin - one of the UK's most successful magicians. Guests also enjoyed the unrivalled networking opportunities during the supplier exhibition that forms part of the annual event.

The 2019 Awards were run in association with associate sponsor Bathroom Wipe-Out 365, Innovative Hygiene Supplies and P-Wave, Danfo (UK) and Jet Towel also supported this year's Awards.
