* purehold-doors.jpgPurehold’s hygienic door handle solutions certainly impressed at the recent ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo in Melbourne, with the judges decreeing it the winner of the Innovation Award for Cleaning Agents.

“Until now, door handles have remained largely unchanged over the decades and continue to be a source of cross-contamination between users; especially in large communal setting such as hospitals, schools and large office blocks,” says the company’s Matt Roberts.

“The Purehold range of products seeks to change this and break the chain of infection between users.”

* purehold-handle.jpgThe range consists of the Purehold Pro - a gel dispensing door handle that cleans users’ hands with highly effective sanitising gel as they open the door; the Purehold Pull - a self-cleaning door handle cover for pull handles that uses silver ions to kill bacteria and viruses deposited onto the surface by uses ensuring its clean to touch; and the Purehold Push - a self-cleaning push plate for push doors that uses the same silver ion technology as the Purehold Pull to ensure its clean to touch.

In 2019, the long awaited Purehold Lever was launched, a self-cleaning door handle cover for lever style door handles that are commonly used in GP surgeries, hospital patient rooms and office buildings. This product completes the Purehold Antibacterial range and ensures that Purehold have a solution for every type of door furniture in the UK.

Despite being a small UK SME, the company has now established the products in multiple sectors across the UK and internationally, including healthcare and food manufacturing following extensive laboratory and field trials.

Hospitals that have adopted the innovation include Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth University College London Hospitals and Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich.

Leading UK food factories which have installed the technology include Warburtons, Hovis, Morrisons Supermarket, Bakkavor, 2SFG, Unilever (supported by Sodexo) Greencore, Kerry, Tulip and ABP.

Thanks to the Innovation Award win at the ISSA Cleaning & Hygiene Expo in Melbourne, the Purehold range is now being recognised across the globe.
