Wrennalls Group's Shaun Bradbury says that despite the UK being in lockdown, his company is still very much operational and indeed it is 'business as usual', with some great products available and ready for delivery.
"Coronaviruses are enveloped viruses, meaning that they are RNA viruses which are surrounded by an outer coating comprised of a lipid bilayer (water-insoluble fatty coating)," explains Shaun.
"Enveloped viruses spread through a 'budding off' process during which a new virus becomes wrapped in an outer coating. However, if this layer is dissolved, these viruses are relatively easy to kill - making the exposed virus more susceptible to disinfectants than non-enveloped viruses.
"The Coronavirus therefore falls into a category of viruses that are most susceptible to disinfectants.
"Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread, include: regular hand washing, especially before and after food preparation, before eating, after toilet use and after handling animals or animal waste; covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing; thoroughly cooking meat and eggs, and avoiding close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing. Particular attention should be directed to the regular cleaning of door handles, switches, hand rails, chair arms and any other 'hand contact' areas."
"Appropriate, combined cleaning and disinfection strategies are recommended to help control the spread of dangerous pathogens, such as the 2019-nCOV."
