I've still not quite got my head around this system but it's come from some really clever ideas, based on the fact that cleaning companies suffer from high staff turnover, which means that the operatives don't always know exactly what they're supposed to

Cleverly, the system can detect the size of the receptacle into which the chemicals are dispensed.

Even more cleverly, it can be operated by the supervisor using remote control and it even has a GPS system which allows the supervisor to detect where each particular cleaner is at any time.

"There are so many companies providing chemicals these days, you can't just sell detergent, the company's Ardizzoni Christian told us.

"This is our service."

Another shortlisted product that made us realise that you can't judge a book by its cover, is IPC Cleaning's Hydro Tube and although it seems simple enough, the thinking and work that's gone into designing it is phenomenal.

Chance would have it that we got talking to its designer, IPC Eagle's Dallas Simonette, who hails from the US.

In a nutshell, the product uses a system of filters and reverse osmosis to provide de-ionised, pure water for cleaning. Such water leaves surfaces really clean and with a neutral charge, which does not attract dirt and thus leaves the cleaned surface, cleaner for longer.
