Vectair playing its part in fighting climate change

* Vectair-green-world.jpgClimate change is an increasingly important topic in the minds of world leaders as we prepare for the UN Climate Change Conference (COP26) in November 2021.

Vectair Systems has been acting to help combat global warming for a while now. Its intention as an innovator is to develop new technology to revolutionise the hygiene industry and to provide the best possible solutions whilst being as environmentally-friendly as possible.

Take its V-Air Solid Evolution air freshener - it is completely free of any solvents, propellants, HFCs and contains no batteries - all it needs to work is natural airflow.

Vectair's green efforts go beyond just product innovation though – it tries to consider the environment wherever possible, in things like packaging and in our office environments.

Vectair Systems has been supporting climate change projects around the world, helping to offset the carbon emissions from V-Air Solid Evolution's life cycle by making a cash contribution towards projects in various regions. These projects are all recognised to international standards, including the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard Voluntary Emission Reductions (VER) and Certified Emission Reductions (CER).

The projects include tree planting in the UK and Brazil, the Breathing Space programme to improve cooking stoves in India, the Native Energy clean water programme in Central America, and a wind-based power generation project in India.

As well as thinking about the environment, safety and reliability are key considerations in all the company’s products and fragrances.

“We feel responsible for the safety of our customers and the general public, so we source the safest ingredients and we blend our perfumes and products with care and attention always on the agenda,” says the company. “As an example, all of our fragrances comply with the safety standards set out by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) and we are a member of the International Sanitary Supply Association.

“Our products are regularly tested for optimum reliability too. During our initial product design phase and throughout our manufacturing processes, we strive to comply with all relevant international legislation and regulations or codes of practice. We have recently grown our compliance team to manage this - whilst a mammoth task, we know it is worth it.”
