ISS strengthens leadership position in the healthcare segment in Turkey

* ISS-Turkey-Adana-hospital.jpgISS A/S has acquired Rönesans Facility Management Company in Turkey from Rönesans Holding, a Turkish contracting company.

As a result, ISS will provide facilities management services, including cleaning, security, food, pest control, landscaping, reception, patient transport, laundry services and waste management, in a Public-Private-Partnership at four newly built hospitals (Adana, Elazı, Bursa and Yozgat) in Turkey until 2045.

The agreement builds on an already successful partnership as ISS Turkey is already operating two of the four hospitals as subcontractor to Rönesans Facility Management Company.

As part of the transaction, ISS will partner with Actera, a leading private equity firm. Actera has in-depth expertise in the Turkish market, a strong operational track record and will become shareholder of ISS Turkey with a 40% ownership.

"The new partnership with Actera and the substantial expansion into the Turkish healthcare sector will advance our efforts to accelerate our leadership position within this key segment," says Pierre-Francois Riolacci, CEO, ISS Europe. The business expansion is fully in line with our OneISS strategy to focus on key account customers and operating in core segments and will position ISS to grow further in the Turkish market with the relevant capital structure."

Cavit Habib, country manager, ISS Turkey adds: "ISS has been present in Turkey since 2005 and has more than 43,500 employees delivering integrated facility management services to almost 1,000 large customers. With this transaction, we welcome our new shareholder and expand our team in Turkey with around 1500 new colleagues.

"The Public-Private-Partnership (PPP)-model is rather new in Turkey. However, ISS is operating in more than 30 countries with a global know-how of 120 years and extensive global experience operating in PPPs, and we look forward to delivering high standards of services to the four hospitals, in close cooperation with our partners."

Actera spokesperson says of the deal: "ISS Turkey is the leader in facility management services; creating value for both its customers and employees. With this transaction, ISS Turkey will further enhance its presence in the Turkish market and contribute to the development of healthcare services in Turkey. We are excited to become a part of this journey."
